A WAEC result does not expire. Nigerian universities and most employers accept WASSCE or WAEC GCE results from any year. What can change is the verification fee on the WAEC Confirm portal when an institution checks your result, but that is paid by the verifier rather than by you, and it has no effect on the result still being valid.

The standard check on waecdirect.org needs a result-checker PIN, either from a scratch card or bought online from an accredited seller. The only alternatives are the printed slip your school issues and the statement of result WAEC issues after the diet. Any site promising to show your result without a PIN is not connected to WAEC and should be ignored.

Awaiting result usually means one or more subject results are still being processed, not that you failed. It often clears within a few weeks of the main release. If it stays after that window, contact WAEC through your school or your nearest zonal office. The cause is sometimes exam-script issues or a clerical mismatch on your registration data.

Take the certificate to your WAEC zonal office with a written request, a sworn affidavit and the original registration documents.
