Get in touch with NigeriaHowTo

Use the channels below for editorial feedback, partnerships, press and security disclosure. We do not handle personal applications, identity retrievals or banking issues — those belong with the relevant official agency.

What we can help with

We read every message that lands in our editorial inbox. The four things we can actually help with are:

  • Corrections and editorial feedback — a fee that is out of date, a broken link to an official portal, a step that no longer matches the live process, a missing piece of context.
  • Partnership enquiries — from publishers, community organisations and service providers whose audience overlaps with ours.
  • Press and media — questions about NigeriaHowTo itself, our editorial approach, or our coverage of a topic.
  • Security disclosure — if you have found a vulnerability in the website or a phishing site impersonating us.

What we cannot help with

We are a publisher, not an agent. Please do not write to us about:

  • Submitting or tracking your personal application.
  • Retrieving a lost NIN, BVN or passport number.
  • Resolving a problem with your bank or mobile money account.
  • Contacting a government agency on your behalf.
  • Anything that requires access to your identity records.

For those, the right place to go is the relevant official agency or your bank. Most of our guides link directly to the correct portal.

Response times

We are a small team and we answer email manually. Expect:

  • Corrections: acknowledgement within 5 working days, substantive response within 14 working days.
  • Partnerships and press: typically within 10 working days.
  • Security disclosure: acknowledgement within 3 working days.

These are targets, not guarantees. If your message is time-sensitive, please say so in the subject line.

What we will never ask for

NigeriaHowTo will never ask you — by email, by web form, by phone or through any social channel — for:

  • Your National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Your Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  • Your passport number or biometric data.
  • Your bank account number or card details.
  • Your account password, PIN, OTP or recovery codes.

If anyone presents themselves as "NigeriaHowTo" and asks for any of the above, treat it as fraudulent and report it to [email protected].

Reporting a correction

If you have found a factual error in a guide, the fastest way to get it fixed is to follow the steps on our corrections page. Include the article URL, the specific sentence, what you believe is correct, and the source that supports it. We treat all reporters anonymously unless you tell us we may name you.

Security disclosure policy

If you have discovered a security issue with the website or a site impersonating us, please email [email protected] with a clear description and, where relevant, steps to reproduce.

We ask researchers to follow responsible disclosure:

  • Give us a reasonable window to investigate and fix the issue before any public disclosure — we treat 90 days as the default.
  • Do not access, modify or exfiltrate data that does not belong to you.
  • Do not run automated scans that degrade site performance for other readers.

We will acknowledge your report, keep you informed as we work on a fix, and credit you in the corrections log if you would like to be credited.
