Step 1 of 1

What do you need to do with your NIN?
Pick one to continue

What you'll need

You bring a few simple details about your situation — never a NIN, BVN, passport number, bank or card details:

  • Your task: first-time enrolment, a correction/modification, or retrieving a NIN
  • For enrolment — whether it's an adult, a child, or a foreign resident
  • For a correction — which field (name, date of birth, phone, address), and why for a name
  • For retrieval — what you still have access to (linked SIM, email, or just the number)

What this tool is not

NigeriaHowTo is an independent information website. We are not affiliated with any government agency, and this tool will never process your application or share your data with any agency. To be specific:

  • It never asks for your NIN, BVN, passport number, bank account, card details, full date of birth or full address.
  • It computes everything in your browser — there is no account, and nothing about you is stored or transmitted.
  • It does not enrol you, change your record, or contact NIMC on your behalf.
  • It never asks for your NIN, Tracking ID, or any identity number — only the kind of task you're doing.
